First is necessary to point out on the test requirements. What type of questions are asked?, what type of answers are required? what English skills are being tested, and how answers must be submitted. I would score language structure knowledge (grammar) and the application of the grammar knowledge in the active production of speaking and writing. Raquel
In section D of the grammar structured test i would give points for the good use of grammar and the structure of the sentences. And I would take points off when the output of the students does not match with the question asked or the tenses that are being tested are not use correctly. In section E, I would pay attention to the whole sentence because the idea is that the students can produce structured and complex sentences using the word “me”, So, to me everything is important in terms of structure, grammar and content of the student's output. Julio Beltran
Acquisition activities are important for the students to acquire knowlege, and given that the pronoun "us" has to be used in the sentences, it is important to pay attention to the accuracy of the student using it because they can change the meaning by using the wrong pronoun. However, I would not take it as a wrong answer but it will lower points. The participation and effort of the students count but the objective is to evaluate grammar in order to avoid wrong use of it in the future. Julio
grammar is a skill not all get or understand easily. the output is consider more important rather than the input, because it has to do with communicative competence and input with the pieces of information that are acquire by the student. silvia
In case of section D I would check grammar and coherence. I mean If the students use in an appropriate way the grammatical tenses in the sentences. I would give points for giving more information. I would take pionts off if students write incomplete sentences or ideas. Section E is the use of "me". In this case I would score not only use of "me" but also the grammar structure. I think that both are important. Ana María
I think that the best way to score section D is by creating a rubric that contains all the can do that the students could demonstrate through this activity. For example: The student can identify present tense sentences. The student can identify past tense sentences. The student can write an explanation about things that are not related to them. I would give points for the correct use of the tenses and for appropriate grammar use in the comment and I would take points off for the incorrect use of the tenses and for grammar mistakes in the comment. Fátima Crespín.
For scoring section E, I would use a rubric in which I would establish the elements and the order that a sentence with the pronoun me should have in order to be grammatical. I would score the sentence as whole not just one part of it. I would give points for accurate use of me and for a grammatical sentence and would take points off for inaccurate use of me and for ungrammaticality in the sentences. Fátima Crespín.
In section D, I think that I would give points por the correct use of the tenses, and I would take points off in the case that the student do not use the tenses properly... I section E, I think that i would not only score for the correct use of me, but also for the correct use of vocabulary, coherence and grammar.. magdalena...
In section F and G, I would score the complete sentence, the accuracy of the complete sentence because that's the purpouse of the test that they can produce statements using the correct grammar structure... Magdalena!!!
